Caution!

Before purchasing, please read all the information below and the general product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Use

Styrax resinoide LS has a spicy balsamic scent with clear green floral aspects reminiscent of lilac. The smell is not particularly strong, but because the product is very viscous, it can help to make a dilution. You mainly use it in certain floral accords, such as those of lilac, hyacinth and daffodil. In addition, it is good in combination with leather scents. Usually you use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in the fragrance composition, but in certain cases it can be much more. It is mainly a base note in perfumes and is fairly stable in most products, including soap.

Keep cool, dry, dark and out of the reach of children.

Properties

Styrax resinoide LS is a yellow-orange, very viscous liquid at room temperature. The substance has a fairly long shelf life, provided it is kept cool, dry and dark (NOT in the refrigerator). The extract is made from a balm of the American sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua L.). The balm is extracted by notching the tree, after which balm is released. This balm is dissolved in ethanol, the insoluble components remain behind. The extract is then distilled, which removes most of the alcohol. At the same time, the styrene content is reduced to a maximum of 0,01%. The addition LS after the name therefore means 'Low in Styrene'.

Like any plant extract, this one is also a mixture of various substances. An (incomplete) indication of the composition is the following:
5-10% - Cinnamyl Alcohol, Cinnamyl Cinnamate, Phenyl Propyl Cinnamate, Cinnamic Acid
2-5% - Benzyl cinnamate
1-2% - beta Caryophyllene

Sustainability

Styrax resinoide LS is made from plant materials, the excipient ethanol can also be made from plant materials. It is completely degradable in the environment, although it contains a few components that do not break down quickly. The balm can be obtained 'wild', but the trees can also be cultivated. The yield is quite high.

Packaging

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black cap. The 250 g package is aluminium with a white cap.
