Use
Limonene D- (nat) has a citrus scent reminiscent of warm-scented citrus such as orange and mandarin. The scent is not particularly strong, undiluted use is common. Typical use is as a filler and solvent in citrus accords. You usually use between 0,1% and 10% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with other citrus scents, spicy scents and conifer scents. In perfumes it is mainly a top note, it is not a stable substance and should not be used in soap.
Limonene D- (nat) was widely used because it is cheap and has a light, but pleasant smell. Nowadays it is used very little as such in fragrance compositions, usualy only as a component of essential oil. This is because it reacts very easily with oxygen from the air, making the smell less pleasant, causing lumps in the product and increasing the risk of an allergic skin reaction. We therefore advise against using it in fragrance compositions, we sell it at the request of customers who think otherwise.
In addition to use in perfumes, it can be used as a technical solvent, for example it is excellent as a sticker remover and for removing residues of sealant, glue and the like.
Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.
Properties
Limonene D- (nat) is a colourless to yellow-orange liquid at room temperature. The purity is at least 93%, the shelf life is quite short, rarely longer than a year. It occurs in nature, many types of essential oil consist largely of it. The product we sell is an isolate, obtained from the essential oil of oranges. Hence we have added the term (nat) to the name to indicate that we consider the substance to be natural.
