EO Frankincense *ADR*

Description

Our essential frankincense oil is made by steam distillation from the olibanum resin, the well-known frankincense resin of various Boswellia species, mainly the Boswellia serrata. The resin comes from Somalia, but the oil is made in France.

In addition to the name frankincense, the name olibanum is also used. In English the oil is called olibanum or frankincense, in French it is oliban or encens, in German it is called Olibanum or Weihrauch.

Indication of the composition:
>25% - Octyl acetate
10-25% - Limonene, Octanol
2-5% - Incensol, Linalool, Alpha Pinene

Olibanum oil is mainly a top note in perfumes, it gives a fresh resinous and citrusy scent in the top, in the heart it becomes more woody and spicy. In the base the wood remains and vanilla and other amber notes emerge. In soap it is fairly stable, although it is better to use the (slightly different smelling) olibanum resinoid.
Olibanum oil goes well with amber perfumes, but also combines well with spice scents and citrus.

This product is very sensitive to oxidation, for that reason 0.1% antioxidant has been added, namely tocopherol (Vitamin E). Apart from this, it is a purely natural essential oil.
