Phenyl propyl alcohol *ADR*

Phenyl propyl alcohol is an aromachemical for use in cosmetics such as perfume and in fragrance products like room spray.

Use

Phenyl propyl alcohol has a fragrance with aspects of hyacinth and rose, but also gardenia and violet. It is a somewhat green floral scent that is medium strong, so the fragrance does not need to be diluted. It can replace phenylethyl alcohol in almost all cases, the scent will then shift some of the honey/rose scent to the hyacinth/iris direction: more green. It goes well with floral scents of bulbous plants such as daffodil. It is mainly a heart note in perfumes and stable in most products, including soap for example. Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.

Properties

Phenyl propyl alcohol is a clear, colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. The substance is stable and also has a long shelf life. The substance occurs in nature, for example in daffodils, but is made synthetically for use as a fragrance.

Packaging

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a child resistant black cap. The 250 g package is made of aluminium with a stopper and a white cap. The 250 g package is not sold to private persons, because it does not have a child resistant cap.
