Attention!
Please read all information below and the general product information before purchasing.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not an end product.
Use
Macrolide Supra (Sym) has a somewhat sweet fruity musk scent. The odour is quite strong, however because the substance is solid at room temperature it can be useful to make a solution. Making a dilution of 10% can actually be done in all common solvents, if you heat on a water bath. For a more concentrated solution, IPM is a good choice. Typical use is in a musk accord. You usually use between 0,2% and 20% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with other musks, as well as floral and fruit scents. In perfumes it is mainly a base note, it is stable in most products, including soap.
Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.
Properties
Macrolide Supra (Sym) is a colourless solid at room temperature. We pour this in the molten state into the packaging, after which it solidifies. The purity is at least 98,5% and the substance has a fairly long shelf life. Men are said to smell this substance better than women, but there is no convincing evidence to support this idea. By the way: as with almost all musks, there are relatively many people who do not perceive the smell at all. It occurs in nature, angelica extracts contain up to 5% of this substance. For use as a fragrance, the synthetic version is used. This version has been made since 1927, at the time a very good achievement, it is not an easy process. Other names for the same molecule are omegapentadecalactone and Exaltolide. The manufacturer is the German company Symrise.
