Use
Vanilla absolute (org) has a sweet spice scent reminiscent of vanilla. The scent is not particularly strong, so it can be used undiluted. However, making a dilution of, for example, 10% can still be useful, because the substance is solid or viscous. You mainly use it in amber perfumes, floriƫntals and related fragrances. You usually use between 0,1% and 10% of this substance in the fragrance composition, but more is possible. It goes well with spices, tobacco, leather, warm floral scents and balsamic scents. It is mainly a base note in perfumes. It can be used in soap, but given the price that is not common.
Keep cool, dry, dark and out of the reach of children.
Properties
Vanilla absolute (org) is a dark brown solid or viscous liquid at room temperature. The substance has a fairly long shelf life, provided it is kept cool, dry and dark (NOT in the refrigerator). The extract is made from the dried fruit of the vanilla plant, an orchid. These fruits are crushed and soaked in organic ethanol. After a post-processing in which the ethanol is removed as much as possible, the fragrances remain, but the extract also contains a fairly large amount of ethanol. Further reduction of ethanol is possible, but would affect the scent.
