Description
Hexazine 2024 is our yearly, informative magazine. It contains articles about fragrance materials, formulation, a list of all available materials we had in the second half of 2024 including our classification system. We think it provides a bit of information that may be useful for many perfumers. We made sure there is something for both starters and more experienced perfumers. It consists of 40 pages and is in full colour.
Contents
Matching a perfume
An article about matching a perfume. Matching means: how to make a near copy of a perfume. Many of our customers try to match a perfume for educational or other purposes. We explain three methods for matching. Additionally we match three commercial perfumes in other articles of the magazine.
How to smell
One of the most important skills for any perfumer. This article covers the methods, tips and tricks.
Matching Noa
This article is about our attempt of matching Noa, by Cacharel. We use the matching techniques provided earlier in the magazine and of course end with a formulation.
Perfumers jargon
Perfumers use their own language of the trade. We explain some of this jargon, so it is easier to understand.
Matching Acqua di Giò
Our second matching experiment, this time with Acqua di Giò, by Armani. We use the very same approach as before and and up with another formulation.
Ambrettolides
The ambrettolides are a group of similar fragrance molecules. We received quite a lot of questions about their nature and difference, so decided to try to clear things up in this article.
Matching Santal 33
Our last matching experiment is for Santal 33, by Le Labo. Just as with the other perfumes we try to work out a similar formulation. Of course this formulation is shared in the Hexazine as well.
Classification and range
The middle part of the Hexazine, 16 of the 40 pages, consists of a list of all fragrant materials we carried in the second half of 2024 and our classification system. In case you are only interested in this, know that you can download this for free from our website.
