Tree moss absolute 15% in IPM is a fragrance extract solution for use in, for example, perfume and air fresheners.

Use

Tree moss absolute 15% in IPM has a spicy moss scent reminiscent of oak moss, but also of the forest and old leather. The smell is not very strong, but can quickly dominate because of the special smell. It is already diluted to 15%, further dilution is possible, so use isopropyl myristate (IPM) for that. Typical use is primarily in moss accords. You usually use less than 0,5% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with leather and citrus scents and can also be used well in fougères and chypres. It is primarily a base note in perfumes and is fairly stable in most products, including soap. Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.

Properties

Tree moss absolute 15% in IPM is a brown liquid at room temperature, this substance has a fairly long shelf life. The substance is a solution of an absolute, an extract that is made with certain solvents, such as hexane or alcohol. These solvents are removed as best as possible from the extract. The smell comes from the lichen 'Tree Moss', which grows on various types of coniferous trees. Although commonly referred to as Evernia prunastri, a better scientific name is probably Pseudevernia furfuracea (L.) Zopf.

Packaging

The 5 g pack is made of brown glass with a black cap. The 20 g and 50 g packaging are made of aluminium with a white cap. The packs are not completely full!

Tree moss absolute 15% in IPM is classified as a hazardous substance, with the following characteristics:

Contains the allergenic substance treemoss extract, which must be indicated on the packaging of cosmetics above a certain concentration. IFRA has provided a standard for tree moss extracts in amendment 43, our extract complies with that standard.
