EO Nutmeg LoSaf is an essential oil for use as a fragrance raw material. Use the oil for example in perfume, cosmetics and soap.

Use

EO Nutmeg LoSaf has the characteristic scent of nutmeg: spice, some powdery but also a hint of wood. EO Nutmeg LoSaf has a medium strong odour and can therefore be used undiluted. It combines well with other spices such as cloves and cinnamon. Nice combinations are also with citrus and leather scents. In terms of flowers, it goes well with spicy flowers such as carnation. You usually use between a trace and 3% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It is mainly a heart note in perfumes, it is stable in most products also in soap.

Store cool, dry and dark.

Properties

EO Nutmeg LoSaf is a light yellow to yellow liquid at room temperature, the substance has a fairly long shelf life. The oil is made from nutmegs by steam distillation. These are the dried cores of the seeds of the nutmeg tree or Myristica fragrans Houtt.

Like any essential oil, this one is a mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is the following:
> 25% - alpha Pinene
10-25% - beta Pinene
5-10% - 1,8-Cineol, Limonene, Terpinene-4-ol
2-5% - alpha Terpinene, gamma Terpinene
1-2% - delta-3-Careen, Isoeugenol, Linalool

The addition LoSaf means 'Low in Safrole', ie, with little safrole. Safrole is a naturally occurring substance in nutmeg, however it is a carcinogen. Regular nutmeg oil should therefore not be sold to private individuals and its use is definitely not recommended. Our oil has been cleaned extra, whereby the safrole has been almost completely removed. The oil contains a maximum of about 0,1% safrole.

Packaging

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black child-resistant cap. The 250 g packaging is only sold to professional users, and is made from aluminium, with a white cap.

EO Nutmeg LoSaf is classified as a hazardous substance, with the following characteristics:

H302 - Harmful if swallowed.
H304 - May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
H317 - May cause an allergic skin reaction.
H361 - Suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child.
H410 - Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

It contains allergens such as limonene, linalool and isoeugenol.
