Description

Veratraldehyde is a fragrance for use in perfume, cosmetics, soap and air fresheners.

Use

Veratraldehyde has a powdery balsamic odour reminiscent of vanilla and benzoin. The odour is not particularly strong, but, for it is a solid: making a solution in DPG, TEC or IPM can be useful. Making a stable 10% solution is possible with all these solvents, in TEC and DPG 25% is possible as well. Typical use is in oriental accords, but also in sweet florals. You usually use between 0,1% and 10% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with other balsamic fragrances, but also with, for example, many wood fragrances. It is less painfully sweet than vanillin and ethyl vanillin and can be used more subtly. In perfumes, it is mainly a base note and is stable in most products, including soap, although it can cause product discolouration.

Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.
