Description

Rosalva (IFF) is an aromachemical for use in, for example, perfume, cosmetics, soap, and air fresheners.

Attention!

Please read all information below and the general product information before purchasing.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Use

Rosalva (IFF) has an aldehyde scent, fresh, a bit waxy, aspects of metal. In addition, it is reminiscent of aspects of the scent of roses. The odour is strong, so making a dilution of, for example, 10% can be useful. Suitable solvents for making such a dilution are DPG and TEC. Typical use is in floral accords, especially rose. You usually use between 0,1% and 2% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with floral scents, but also with green scents, citrus and red fruit. It adds a fresh and clean aldehyde accent to the scent. In perfumes it is mainly a base note, although, as with aldehydes, it is often clearly noticeable in the top. It is stable in most products, making it very suitable for adding an aldehyde note to soap.

Store in a cool, dry, dark place and out of the reach of children.

Properties

Rosalva (IFF) is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. The purity is at least 98% (sum of the alcohols) and the substance has a fairly long shelf life. It occurs in nature, but for use as a fragrance the synthetic version is used. This is usually largely based on vegetable raw materials. The manufacturer is the American IFF.

Other names for this substance are Trepanol, the same molecule, but from Takasago, or one of the variants of the chemical name, such as 9-decen-1-ol, w-decenol or omega decenol.
