Use
Potassium ferrocyanide yellow is primarily used by our customers for making blueprints. Potassium ferrocyanide red can also be used for this purpose; both produce a slightly different shade of blue.
In experiments, it is used, among other things, to detect iron compounds. This produces a blue color. This same blue color is obtained when used to make pigments, such as Berlin blue.
Properties
We sell Potassium ferrocyanide yellow (the water-containing trihydrate) of technical (T) quality; in this case, the content is at least 96%.
Other names include potassium hexacyanoferrate(II), potassium ferrocyanide, and potassium hexacyanferrate(II). Not to be confused with Potassium ferrocyanide red; the names are very similar, sometimes with only a single letter difference.
