Description
Benzoin Siam resinoid 50% in DPG is a fragrance extract solution for use in, for example, perfume and air fresheners.
It goes with many warm floral scents, especially heliotrope, but also broom and jasmine. On the other hand, it also goes well with much greener and spicy scents such as rose and lavender, the effect is different. The smell of many baby products can be achieved with this substance. It is primarily a base note in perfumery and is stable in most products, including soap, although you could also consider the pure, undiluted version that we also sell. In soap it is an excellent fixative, but its use can lead to discolouration.
Because this resinoid, normally a solid, is dissolved in DPG, it mixes and doses easily. Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.
Like the resin, the resinoid mainly consists of esters of benzoic acid, with coniferyl benzoate in particular being strongly represented. Furthermore, the ester of benzoic acid with cinnamic alcohol, free benzoic acid and a little vanillin.
It sometimes appears on the market as an essential or 'essential' oil of benzoin Siam, but this resin is not normally made into an essential oil.
