Description

Solketal is a fragrance carrier for use in reed diffusers and other fragrance diffusers.

Attention!

Before purchasing, read all the information below and the general product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids, or other internal use.
Intended for mixing with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Not intended for use in cosmetics or personal care products.

Use

Solketal has a light but noticeable odour reminiscent of paint thinner and acetone. This odour is not a problem for practical use; it is easily overpowered by a sufficiently strong fragrance composition. The liquid evaporates fairly well and evenly. Many fragrances dissolve easily in it. It's therefore simple to use: mix it with the desired fragrances in the desired ratio, and you're done. A fragrance concentration of 30-50% is common.

This substance is intended for use in diffusers, not for perfume, cosmetics, or personal care products. Store in a cool, dry, dark place, and out of reach of children.

Properties

Solketal is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. Its purity is at least 99,5%, and the substance has a relatively long shelf life. It does not occur naturally; it is a synthetic substance. In our case, this is made from plant-based raw materials.

Another commonly used name is isopropylidene glycerol. A well-known brand name for Solketal is Augeo Clean Multi. We do not sell this Solvay product, but Glycasol from the Dutch company Alteqo.
