Galbex 183 (Fir)

Description

Galbex 183 (Fir) is a fragrance raw material for use in, for example, perfume or air fresheners.

Use

Galbex 183 (Fir) has an intense green scent with aspects of galbanum, lime and conifers, among others. The smell is quite strong, making a dilution of say 10% can therefore be useful. Hercolyn DW is ideal for this. You usually use between a trace and 5% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with citrus, other fruits such as pineapple and apple, and (green) floral scents. It is mainly a top to middle note in perfumes and is fairly stable.

Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.

Properties

Galbex 183 (Fir) is a light yellow to yellow liquid at room temperature, the substance has a fairly long shelf life. It is a base: a mixture of different fragrances, which in this case are partly natural and partly synthetic. The manufacturer is the Swiss Firmenich, who introduced the base in 1974.

Packaging

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black child-resistant cap. The 250 g package is made of aluminium with a a white cap. The latter packaging is not supplied to private customers because it is not child-resistant. The smaller sizes do have a child-resistant packaging.

Dangers

Galbex 183 (Fir) is classified as a hazardous mixture, with the following characteristics:

H304 - May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
H317 - May cause an allergic skin reaction.
H411 - Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

It contains the allergenic substances limonene, linalool and (very little) citral.
