Attention!

Before purchasing, read all information below and thegeneral product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended for mixing with other fragrances: on its own the scent can be boring or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Use

Essential oil Rose Bulgaria smells like roses at, or just past their peak: roses and spicy, towards tobacco, tea, honey, with green aspects and something metallic that you can also smell in rose absolute. It goes well with other floral scents, but also with honey and many types of fruit such as citrus and forest fruits. It adds a rich floral aspect, even in a relatively low dosage. You usually use between 0,1% and 2% of this substance in the fragrance composition. Although the scent is not extremely strong, it is still useful to make a solution of, for example, 10% because of the low dosage that you often use. In perfumes, it is mainly a heart to base note and is stable in most products, including soap.

Store in a cool, dry and dark place. Definitely do not store too cold, so certainly not in the refrigerator! The oil can then become partly solid and this is not always reversible well or without damage.

Properties

Essential oil Rose Bulgaria is a colourless to light yellow liquid at room temperature. The substance has a relatively long shelf life. The oil is made by steam distillation from the petals of the Rosa x damascena Mill., or Damask rose. Like every essential oil, this is also a mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is the following:

> 25% - Citronellol, Geraniol
2-5% - Citral, Citronellal, Farnesol, Phenylethylalcohol, Methyleugenol
1-2% - Eugenol, Geranylacetate, Linalool

For all raw materials, but certainly the more natural ones, the scent, colour and other properties can vary within a certain bandwidth from batch to batch and over time.

Sustainability

This fragrance is made from renewable raw materials, so that's good. Making an essential oil costs energy, in this case a lot of energy. Making one gram of rose oil requires 10 m2 of roses. They all have to be distilled with steam. The oil is not only allergenic and corrosive: it can permanently damage the eyes, it is also suspected of causing cancer and genetic damage.

The reason we have included this unsustainable oil in our range is because it is incredibly important for the (perfume) culture and because a small amount can have a big impact. However, we advise you to use this oil with care. Only use the oil if it really contributes to your composition. Adding rose oil does not automatically increase the quality of a product, just like any other fragrance, you must use it with care.

Packaging

The 1 and 5 gram packaging is made of brown glass with a black plastic (PP), child-resistant cap. The 20 g packaging is made of aluminium with a black plastic (PP), child-resistant cap.
Closure is always with regular closing caps, for dosing small amounts we recommend using plastic pipettes.
