Essential oil Orange sweet CP is an essential oil for use as a fragrance. Use the oil for example in perfume or air fresheners.

Use

Essential oil Orange sweet CP has a scent of oranges familiar to almost everyone: a warm citrus scent. The scent is not very strong or overpowering, so it can be used undiluted. It combines well with other citrus scents, as well as with spices and flowers such as orange blossom and jasmine. You usually use between 1% and 10% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It is mainly a top note in perfumes. The substance is sensitive to oxygen from the air and to sunlight, moreover easily affected by acidic and alkaline products such as soap.

Store cool, dry and dark.

Properties

Essential oil Orange sweet CP is a light yellow to orange-red liquid at room temperature. The substance is sensitive to oxygen and light and therefore does not have a long shelf life, replace it at least once a year. The oil is obtained by cold pressing ('CP') from the peels of sweet oranges, fruits of the Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck. The oranges used to make this oil were grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and minimal use of pesticides. Like any essential oil, this one is a mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is the following:
> 25% - Limonene
2-5% - Decanal, Myrcene, Alpha Pinene

This product is very sensitive to oxidation, which is why 0,1% tocopherol (Vitamin E) has been added. Apart from the antioxidant, it is purely natural essential oil.

Packaging

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black child-resistant cap. The 10 ml package is in a plastic (LDPE) bag, in order to be able to stick a sufficiently large label. The 250 g package is made of aluminium with a white cap. The latter packaging is not supplied to private individuals, as it does not have a child-resistant closure.

Dangers

Essential oil Orange sweet CP is classified as a hazardous substance, with the following characteristics:

H226 - Flammable liquid and vapour.
H304 - May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
H315 - Causes skin irritation.
H317 - May cause an allergic skin reaction.
H410 - Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

It contains the allergenic substance limonene (often more than 95%), in addition to some linalool.
