Description

Essential oil Cognac green is an essential oil for use as a fragrance raw material. Use it in perfumes, cosmetics, and other scented products.

Caution!

Before purchasing, read all the information below and the general product information.

Not intended for use in food, vape liquids, or other internal use.

Intended for mixing with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.

Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Use

Essential oil Cognac green has a fresh green scent, with difficult-to-describe aspects of cognac, whiskey, and other distilled spirits. The scent is not very strong: dilution is not really necessary. It pairs well with other green, fruity, and spicy scents, as well as with (green) florals such as rose and violet. It adds a unique accent. You typically use between 0,1% and 2% of this substance in fragrance compositions, but you can easily use more. In perfumes, it primarily serves as a base note and is fairly stable at a neutral pH, making it less suitable for soaps.

Store in a cool, dry, and dark place.

Properties

Essential oil Cognac green is a green liquid at room temperature. It has a relatively long shelf life. The oil is produced by steam distillation from the yeast and other residues left over from distilling cognac. Like all essential oils, this is a mixture of various substances, although these are less well-documented for this less common essential oil. The main components are ethyl and isoamyl esters of various fatty acids, such as ethyl octanoate. It also contains short-chain free fatty acids such as decanoic acid.

For all raw materials, but especially the more natural ones, the scent, colour, and other properties can vary within a certain range from batch to batch and over time.
