Essential oil Vetiver Java

Essential oil Vetiver Java is made by steam distillation from the roots of the Vetiveria zizanioides a tropical grass species. The vetiver grass used comes from from Indonesia An infrequently used other name is khus khus or cus cus oil.

Indication of the composition:
> 25% - Vetiverol
10-25% - Khusimol, Vetivene
5-10% - alpha Vetivone, beta Vetivone, Vetiveryl acetate, Vetiveryl vetirate
2-5% - Benzoic Acid, Terpinene-4-ol, Valerenol

Vetiver is a typical and popular base note in perfumes. It has a sweet, warm, earthy, woody scent.
Essential oil Vetiver Java goes well with most other essential oils. It is widely used in perfumery, especially in amber, chypre and fougere perfumes. The combination with cedar wood and rose is classic. The oil is very viscous.
