EO Litsea cubeba (org) is an essential oil, used as an aroma chemical in perfume, cosmetics and other fragrance products.

Usage

EO Litsea cubeba (org) has a warm citrus scent. Although the smell does not appear very strong, the oil can sometimes predominate, which is why making a 10% solution might make sense. In a very low dose it can refresh a perfume, a slightly higher dose gives a nice spicy citrus scent. In high doses, the fragrance is not subtle, but is often found pleasant. It matches well with wood, spice and spicy scents, but also with citrus scents. In perfumes, it is mainly a top to heart note. Although the oil does not seem chemically very suitable for soap, it is used a lot for that.

Store cool, dry and dark.

Properties

EO Litsea cubeba (org) is a yellow liquid that has a long shelf life. The oil is made from the fruits of the Litsea cubeba (Lour). Pers. This is a small tree / shrub that is mainly planted in China for the extraction of the essential oil. The oil is made by steam distillation.

We don't know a Dutch name for Litsea cubeba, or it should have been "may chang", but that is less common and still not very Dutch.

In other European languages ??there is also usually no local name for Litsea cubeba and Litsea cubeba or may chang is also used as the name.

Nothing has been added to the oil; it is a 100% pure essential oil. We sell an organic quality litsea cubeba oil, which is why (org) is behind the name.

Like any essential oil, it is also a mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is the following:
> 25% - Citral
10-25% - Limonene
2-5% - Citronellal, Geraniol, Linalool, 6-Methyl-5-hepten-2-one, alpha Pinene, beta Pinene
1-2% - Citronellol, Nerol, Sabineen

Packaging

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black cap. The 250 g packaging is made of aluminum with a stopper and white cap.

The 250 g packaging is not supplied to private individuals, as we have not found suitable packaging with a child-resistant closure. The latter is mandatory for this product, when delivered to private individuals.
