EO Juniper berry (org) *ADR*

EO Juniper Berry (org) is an essential oil for use as a fragrance. For example, use the oil in perfume, air fresheners and other scented products.

Use

EO Juniper Berry (org) has a green spicy coniferous scent, which is not very strong, use it undiluted. It goes well with spicy scents, but also with the smell of wood. It adds a touch of natural freshness and a bit of spice. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It is mainly a top note in perfumes (although it offers wood tones well into the heart) and unfortunately not very stable in most products. It usually goes well in anhydrous products and alcohol-rich products, but think about the addition of an antioxidant.

Store cool, dry and dark.

Properties

Juniper oil can be made from the wood of the bush, the needles and the berries. We opted for the somewhat more expensive, but nicer-smelling juniper berry oil: oil from the berries, not from the needles or the wood. This oil is extracted from organically grown juniper berries through steam distillation.

This product is very sensitive to oxidation, so 0,1% tocopherol, an antioxidant, has been added. Apart from this, it is a pure essential oil.

EO Juniper berry (org) is a colourless to yellow liquid at room temperature. The substance has a limited shelf life: the quality of the oil, including the odour, decreases due to the action of oxygen from the air. Like any essential oil, this one is a mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is the following:

>25 % - alpha Pinene, Myrcene
2-5% - 4-Carvomenthenol, beta Caryophyllene, Limonene, beta Pinene
1-2% - Para Cymene, Alpha Terpinene, Terpinolene, Terpinyl Acetate

Packaging

The 5 gram container is made of brown glass with a black, child-resistant cap. The 20 and 50 g packaging is made of aluminum with a white cap. The aluminum packaging is not supplied to private individuals because the child-resistant cap is missing.

Juniper berry oil contains limonene and linalool, substances that some people have an allergic reaction to.
