Attention!
Before purchasing, read all information below and the general product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be boring or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a final product.
Use
Essential oil Clary Sage has a sweet, spicy scent with aspects of musk, hay, lavender, but also other herbs and spices. Because musk scents in particular are rare in the plant world, this oil is very important for plant perfumery. The scent can be pronounced, but this can vary per batch. Dilution is therefore usually not necessary. It is a very versatile oil, but most classic is in fougère, chypre and amber scents. Floral scents such as rose and orchid lend themselves well to use with Clary Sage essential oil. In perfumes it is mainly a heart and top note, but the base notes are strongly present. Fairly stable, also in soap.
Store in a cool, dry and dark place.
Properties
Clary Sage essential oil is an essential oil that is made by steam distillation of the above-ground parts of clary sage. At room temperature it is liquid and often colourless, but sometimes also light or dark yellow. Clary sage, is a plant from the sage family. Sometimes the plant is fermented for distillation, but the fresh herb can also be used. Our oil belongs to the latter type. When growing the plants for making this oil, no use is made of artificial fertilisers and no, or minimal use of pesticides.
Like every essential oil, this one is also a mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is the following:
>25 % - Linalyl acetate
10-25 % - Linalool
2-5 % - beta Caryophyllene, Myrcene, alpha Terpineol
1-2 % - Geraniol, Geranyl acetate, Nerol, Sclareol
For all raw materials, but certainly the more natural ones, the scent, colour and other properties can vary within a certain bandwidth from batch to batch and over time.
