Description
CO2 Coffee (org) is a CO2 extract for use in, for example, perfume, cosmetics and air fresheners.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.
For use in cosmetics, it is useful to know that the extract contains approximately 0,5% caffeine, an active ingredient that is used in shampoo, for example.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place and out of the reach of children.
The extract is made by extracting roasted arabica coffee beans in liquefied carbon dioxide. These coffee beans are organically grown. After further processing, the aromatic substances remain, the carbon dioxide becomes gaseous again and disappears completely from the extract.
It is a so-called 'total' extract, which means that it also contains many of the less volatile substances present in the plant. The solubility in alcohol is therefore limited.
Like any plant extract, it is also a mixture of various substances. Less than one percent of this is volatile, but the odour of these substances is generally very strong, making the extract sufficiently strong. Some relevant components are:
An allergic reaction to this substance is not expected, but we cannot completely rule this out.

Use
CO2 Coffee (org) has a spicy-sweet scent reminiscent of freshly brewed coffee. The scent is not particularly strong, so it can be used undiluted. It is an unusual scent in perfumes and other fragrance products. Obviously it is very suitable as a starting point for a coffee scent (for example as an air freshener), but it probably also goes well with cocoa, vanilla and similar scents. Because of the phenolic aspect you could try it with the scent of daffodil, tulip and, for example, leather scent. Due to the wide range of possible applications, it is difficult to give dosage advice. For a coffee scent you can go up to almost 100%, but for accents in the suggestions mentioned, 1% may be sufficient. In perfumes it is mainly a heart note. The stability seems at least reasonable, but little is known about it.For use in cosmetics, it is useful to know that the extract contains approximately 0,5% caffeine, an active ingredient that is used in shampoo, for example.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place and out of the reach of children.
Properties
CO2 Coffee (org) is a brown, not completely clear liquid at room temperature. The substance has a fairly long shelf life, provided it is stored in a cool, dry and dark place (NOT in the refrigerator).
- ± 0,1% - Furfuryl alcohol
- ± 0,04% - Pyrazines, such as Methylpyrazine and 2,6-Dimethylpyrazine
- ± 0,002% - Furfural
