Use

Silvanone Supra (Giv) has a musky scent with clearly animal and powdery aspects. The scent is not particularly strong, undiluted use is common. Typical use is in musk accords. You usually use between 0,1% and 15% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It has some aspects of nitro musks, but much lighter than for example musk ketone. It adds warmth and depth to the scent. In perfumes it is mainly a base note. It is stable in many products, including soap, but it is better not to use it in very acidic products or bleach.

Store in a cool, dry, dark place and out of reach of children.

Properties

Silvanone Supra (Giv) is a colourless to light yellow liquid at room temperature. The substance has a fairly long shelf life. It is a mixture of synthetic substances, with the following composition:

Cyclopentadecanone - 35-40%
Isopropyl myristate - 27-33%
Hexadecanolide - 26-33%

The manufacturer is Givaudan.

This fragrance will not be smelled well by everyone: certainly in pure form and without other fragrances. It is also conceivable that it works one time and not the other time, one batch works and the other batch does not.

Packaging

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black cap. The 250 g packaging is made of aluminium with a white cap. Closure is always with normal closing caps, for dosing small quantities we recommend the use of plastic pipettes.

Sustainability

This fragrance is mainly made from petrochemicals such as petroleum, a part (approximately 24,7%) is renewable and comes from vegetable raw materials. The degradability in the environment is poor.
