Description
Safraleine (Giv), is an aromachemical made by Givaudan. It hardly occurs in nature, it is a synthetic product.
Safraleine (Giv) is a pale yellow liquid. It has a scent reminiscent of spices, especially saffron, with aspects of leather and tobacco. It is a very versatile substance, in small quantities it can give a nice twist to scents with spices, woods, musk and amber, in larger quantities it makes a big contribution to leather accords. It is usually used in small amounts, except in certain leather fragrances. As a fragrance, it is primarily a base note. Stable in soap.
Making a dilution of 10% can be useful, at that percentage it mixes with most common solvents, for example DPG. Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.
