Attention!
Before purchasing, read all the information below and the general product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids, or other internal use.
Intended for mixing with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.
Use
Poivrol (Sym) has a spicy scent reminiscent of pepper and bay leaf. The scent is not particularly strong; undiluted use is common. Typical use is as a spice accent. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in fragrance compositions, but a little more is no problem. It is very versatile and combines just as easily with citrus and florals as with wood and musk. It adds a beautiful, peppery spice accent that later transitions into a more woody scent. In perfumes, it is primarily a top to middle note; it is stable in most products, including soap.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place, and out of reach of children.
Properties
Poivrol (Sym) is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. Its purity is at least 96% and the substance has a relatively long shelf life. It does not occur naturally; it is a synthetic substance, largely based on plant-based raw materials. The manufacturer is Symrise.
This fragrance may not be smellt well by everybody, especially in its pure form and without other fragrances. It's also conceivable that it works sometimes and sometimes not, one batch succeeds and the next fails.
Although essentially the same molecule, Mahagonate (Sym) has a slightly different scent. It almost completely lacks the peppery top note, while Poivrol has less of a strong patchouli quality.
