Muscenone (Fir)

Description

Muscenone (Fir) is an aromachemical for use in, for example, perfume, cosmetics, soap and scented candles.

Use

Muscenone (Fir) has a sweet animalic scent reminiscent of the nitro musks and natural musks. The smell is strong, making a dilution of, for example, 10% can therefore be useful. Typical use is as a booster, useful as such in just about any fragrance, especially in more classic, heavy fragrances. In addition, as a beautiful musk scent in a musk accord. You usually use between 0.1% and 3% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with other musks, but also with floral scents, especially rose, jasmine and violet. It is primarily a base note in perfumes and is stable in most products, including soap.

Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.

Properties

Muscenone (Fir) is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. The purity is at least 99% and it has a long shelf life. It does not occur in nature, it is a synthetic variant of the naturally occurring fragrance muscone. The manufacturer is the Swiss company Firmenich. We recently changed the name from Muscenon to Muscenone, Firmenich changed the name to Muscenone delta at about the same time. In all cases it concerns the same substance. Not to be confused with muscone, which is a related, but different material.

As with any musk fragrance, you may not or hardly notice the smell, some people do not smell one or more musk fragrances.

Packaging

The 5 g pack is made of brown glass with a black cap. The other packaging are made of aluminium with a white cap, while the 250 g packaging also has a stopper. None of the packages is completely filled, because the contents are weighed.
