Attention!
Before purchasing, read all the information below and the general product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids, or other internal use.
Intended for mixing with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.
Use
Citroneyl formate has a fresh, green, floral scent reminiscent of rose, geranium, and bergamot. The scent is not particularly strong; undiluted use is common. Its typical use is in floral accords, especially those of rose and geranium. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in fragrance compositions. In addition to floral scents, it is also used in fougère and fruity fragrances such as apricot and peach, and in citrus fragrances. In perfumes, it is primarily a top to middle note; it is stable in most products, including soap.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place, and out of reach of children.
Properties
Citronellyl formate is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. Its purity is at least 95% (alpha and beta forms combined), and the substance has a relatively long shelf life. It occurs naturally, but the synthetic version is used for fragrance use. This is largely based on plant-based raw materials. The manufacturer is Symrise.
