Description
Ambrettolide (IFF) is an aromachemical for use in perfume, cosmetics and other scented products.
Use
Ambrettolide (IFF) has a creamy musk scent. The odour is medium strong, Ambrettolide can therefore be used undiluted. It combines well with fruit and floral scents, as well as ambers. In addition, it contributes greatly to the appearance of the fragrance composition: the fragrance carries on and appears stronger. It is mainly a base note in perfumes. Fair to very stable in almost all applications, including soap for example. Stable in candles, but a lot is needed for a good effect.
Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.
Properties
Ambrettolide (IFF) is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. The purity is at least 98%, the substance has a fairly long shelf life. The substance does not occur in nature in this form, although it strongly resembles a natural variant. The manufacturer is IFF.
Ambrettolide has many fans. It is not only an excellent fixative with a strong radiance and a very pleasant musk fragrance, but also one of the most environmentally friendly musk fragrances. Unlike almost all other musks, it breaks down quickly and is not irritating, toxic or allergenic. It is made from shellac, a natural wax made by certain insects.
Packaging
The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black cap. The 250 g package is made of aluminum with a white cap.
Dangers
Ambrettolide is not classified as a hazardous substance (REACH/CLP/ADR). Of course it is wise to handle all substances safely.
