Aldehyde C18 coconut, also known as gamma Nonalactone, is an aromachamical with a characteristic coconut odour. In nature, it occurs in small quantities, mainly in fruits and flowers.

Aldehyde C18 coconut is a clear, colourless to pale yellow liquid. The scent is a sweet, creamy coconut scent. In larger quantities it is therefore especially useful for coconut scents and mixtures with a coconut element. It is very versatile in smaller quantities. It modifies floral scents, such as jasmine, champaca, fruit scents, peach for example, anything with vanilla or sandalwood, often in small amounts. It is mainly a base note. Fairly stable and does not discolour in soap.

Making a dilution of 10-25% can be useful, in that case DPG is the obvious choice. Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.

Aldehyde C18 coir is not classified as a hazardous substance under the REACH/CLP regulation. An allergic reaction is not common. Of course it is wise to handle all fragrances with care.
