Seaweed (Fucus) absolute

Description

Seaweed (Fucus) absolute is an absolute for use in perfume or air fresheners, for example.

Attention!

Please read all information below and the general product information before purchasing.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Use

Seaweed (Fucus) absolute has a mossy and spicy scent reminiscent of seaweed on the beach. The smell is not particularly strong, but it is a viscous substance. Making a dilution of, for example, 25% can therefore be useful. You mainly use it in marine, leather and moss accords. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in the fragrance composition, but more is not a problem. It goes well with other mossy and spicy scents, but also with wood and some floral scents, such as daffodil and lavender. It is mainly a base note in perfumes. Unfortunately, not much is known about its stability, as it is a rarely and small-scale used fragrance.

Store in a cool, dry, dark place and out of the reach of children.

Properties

Seaweed (Fucus) absolute is an almost black, very viscous liquid at room temperature. The substance has a fairly long shelf life, provided it is stored in a cool, dry and dark place (NOT in the refrigerator).

The extract is made by soaking bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus L.) in a solvent. After post-processing, the fragrances remain, except for a small residue of solvent (ethanol).

Like any plant extract, it is a mixture of various substances. Unfortunately, little is known about this, but in any case it contains cresol compounds, phenols and similar molecules. For the same reason we have no technical details about this material.

Sustainability

Seaweed (Fucus) absolute is made from vegetable substances and ethanol. It is completely degradable in the environment. Bladderwrack is very common in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, among others.

Packaging

The 1 and 5 gram packaging is made of brown glass with a black cap. The 20 gram package is made of aluminium with a white cap.

Dangers

Algae (Fucus) absolute is not classified as a hazardous substance. We still recommend that you handle all substances with care: keep out of the reach of children.

An allergic reaction to this substance is unusual, but cannot be ruled out.
