Attention!

Before purchasing, read all information below and thegeneral product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be boring or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a final product.

Use

Blackcurrant bud absolute has a fruity green scent reminiscent of blackcurrants. The scent is not particularly strong, but the absolute is syrupy to solid; making a dilution of, for example, 10% can therefore be useful. TEC and DPG are suitable for this. You mainly use it in fruit accords. Usually you use a trace to 5% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It goes well with other green and fruity scents, but also with floral scents such as rose and violet. In addition to the aforementioned scent, it has an animal sulphur aspect, which can make fragrance compositions more exciting and interesting. In perfumes, it is mainly a heart to base note.

Store in a cool, dry, dark place and out of reach of children.

Properties

Blackcurrant bud absolute is a dark brown to black syrupy paste at room temperature. The substance has a fairly long shelf life, provided it is stored in a cool, dry and dark place (NOT in the refrigerator).

The extract is made by soaking the blackcurrant buds in a solvent. This solution is evaporated and what remains is the concrete. This concrete is dissolved in alcohol. This solution is also evaporated and processed. What remains is the absolute. In French it is called 'Absolue de bourgeons de cassis'.

Like any plant extract, this is also a mixture of various substances. Unfortunately, this is poorly documented. The absolute contains at least beta caryophyllene, limonene, pinenes, alpha terpinene and terpinolene.

Technical details such as density and Log p are not well described for this product and may vary considerably.

Sustainability

Blackcurrant bud absolute is made from plant materials using petrochemical solvents and alcohol. It is completely biodegradable in the environment.
Quite a lot of land is needed for the production of plants for a small amount of extract, but pruning waste is also used.

Packaging

The 1 and 5 gram packaging is made of brown glass with a child-resistant black cap. The 20 gram packaging is made of aluminium with a child-resistant black cap.
