Attention!

Before purchasing, read all the information below and the general product information.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Use

Laureth-4 is mainly used to make bath oil. By adding it, the oil becomes somewhat miscible with the water, so that the bath oil does not all float on the water, but spreads throughout the bath. In addition, it can be used in shampoo, shower gel and the like to help the perfume and active ingredients dissolve better, allowing the product to remain clearer. In addition, it increases the viscosity of shampoo and the like in many cases.

For bath oil: mix Laureth-4 cold with the oil, perfumes and any other ingredients. No heating is necessary. Stir gently, otherwise it will foam a little. Use 8-15% Laureth-4.

For shampoo and the like: mix it with the surfactants, then follow the recipe. Heating is not necessary here either. Here you use 2-5%.

It appears under the name 'Mulsifan' in the recipes of the German TV program Hobbythek. Mulsifan, better: Mulsifan CPA is a trademark of the German Zschimmer & Schwarz. Because there are several companies that make Laureth-4, our product may be made by another factory. This makes no difference to the use.

Properties

Laureth-4 is a colourless to pale yellow viscous liquid at room temperature. Although usually clear, it can develop a white haze or become partly solid, especially when it is cold. This usually disappears with heating and/or stirring, otherwise you can filter or decant the end product. The substance has a fairly long shelf life.

Sustainability

Laureth-4 is made from lauric acid that can be extracted from coconut oil, palm oil or palm kernel oil. In addition, ethylene oxide, which is a by-product of oil and natural gas refining. Ideally, it is made from RSPO palm oil and ethylene from alcohol, but we have not (yet) found a manufacturer that makes this. It is also harmful to the environment and not easily degradable.

Packaging

We package this in brown plastic (PET) bottles with a black plastic (PP) cap. The 4,8 kg packaging is an HDPE jerrycan with a black plastic (PP) cap.
