Des fleurs blanc #4

“Des fleurs blanc #4” is a floral perfume with the scent of mainly white flowers. It is somewhat reminiscent of Anaïs anaïs or l’air du temps. This is the fourth improved formula that we publish, hence #4.

Ingredients and materials

– 30 ml Cosmetic hair water
– 20 drops of Hedione (Fir)
– 17 drops of Mayol (Fir)
– 17 drops of Phenylethyl Alcohol
– 15 drops of Ethyl linalool
– 12 drops of Benzyl Acetate
– 10 drops of Benzyl Salicylate
– 5 drops of EO Ylang Ylang III
– 4 drops Heliotropex N (IFF)
– Perfume bottle Quadro 30 ml
– Dropping pipette plastic 1 and 3 ml: at least 8 x 1 ml and 1 x 3 ml, but it is wise to buy more, reuse of these plastic pipettes is difficult.
A 10 ml bottle of an EO (essential oil) or other fragrance usually contains about 200-300 drops.

Procedure

Fill the perfume bottle Quadro with about 20 ml of cosmetic hair water, it does not come very precisely. Use a plastic 3 ml dropper for this, this is easier than a small funnel. Then add the other raw materials one after the other. Finally, top up the bottle with cosmetic hair water until it is nicely filled: just below the neck. The riser of the atomizer attachment needs to be cut to size, look at a bottle of perfume from the store to see how far it needs to go. Do not cut too short, then you will not get the bottom out and not too long, then the set-up can become loose. Make sure that the pipettes are not mixed up, otherwise the Hedione might smell like Benzyl acetate and the ylang oil smell like Heliotropex N.
The alcohol smell diminishes after a few days to weeks and eventually disappears completely.

Perfume does not need to be preserved, because of the high percentage of alcohol it cannot get moldy. However, due to the effect of oxygen from the air, high temperature and too much (sun) light, the smell can still deteriorate. Store it (like other perfumes) cool, dry and dark in a tightly closed container. Usually the smell gets a little better after storage, when it is 3-6 months old it is usually at its best, but if properly stored it normally lasts at least a year, sometimes (much) longer.

Splash cologne

Nice and fresh: a splash of cologne!

Simply put, a splash cologne (also: body mist) is a light perfume that you can spray liberally on your entire body. A splash cologne doesn’t have to be long lasting: just freshen up. A light after-scent is allowed, but not necessary. Nice on the road, or when you come home sweaty, but don’t really have time to shower.

The basic recipe is very simple, the secret lies in the fragrances used. Therefore: one basic recipe and a few variants for the fragrance.

Splash cologne

• 100 ml Cosmetic Hair Water
• 30 drops of fragrance composition

Mix, put in a bottle with an atomizer attachment and you’re done. As with all perfumes, it improves during the first hours to weeks as the perfume matures. The pungent alcohol smell will go away on its own. Pipettes are required for dripping the fragrances, a suitable funnel is useful for filling the bottle(s).

Choose one of the compositions below as a fragrance composition, or make up your own.

Lafresh

A modern lavender scent – fresh and light:

• 12 drops EO Lavender Bulgaria (org)
• 10 drops EO Bergamot FCF
• 8 drops of linalyl acetate

Limint

A spicy citrus scent – fresh and spicy:

• 11 drops Dihydromyrcenol
• 11 drops Terpinyl Acetate
• 6 drops of EO Lime distilled
• 1 drop EO Peppermint VSA
• 1 drop EO Sage Dalmatia (org)

Berrydew

A modern fruit fragrance – fresh and sweet:

• 10 drops Terpinyl Acetate
• 9 drops Dewfruit TEC (Giv)
• 3 drops Fructone (IFF)
• 3 drops EO Lime distilled
• 2 drops of cis-3-Hexeenol
• 3 drops EO Davana

Bubble gum

The scent of strawberry gum – fresh and surprising:

• 10 drops of Hedione (Fir)
• 10 drops of Fructone (IFF)
• 8 drops Benzyl Acetate
• 1 drop of Aurantiol 50% in DPG
• 1 drop EO Bergamot FCF

Impatiens perfume

Impatiens perfume is a perfume with a scent based on the flowers of the Himalayan balsam.

Description

Himalayan balsam is a family of plants of which the large balsam is known in Western Europe in particular. It blooms at the end of August, beginning of September. In some places they are massive and spread a green floral scent.

Based on this, the perfume formula below has been developed. A simple perfume, which you can tinker with a lot if you want. The green floral scent of the Himalayan balsam is rounded off with somewhat sweeter scents.

Notes

Top: rosewood, ozone

Heart: Himalayan balsam, or violet, rose, hyacinth

Base: iris, vanilla

Formula

Mix the following substances in any order:

Linalool – 18 drops
Phenylpropyl alcohol – 10 drops
Isoraldeine 95 (Giv) Methyl ionone – 7 drops
PADMA – 7 drops
Helional (IFF) – 7 drops
Floralozone (IFF) – 3 drops
EO Davana – 1 drops
Ionone alpha – 1 drops
Heliotropex N (IFF) – 1 drops
Cosmetic hair water – 30 ml

Instructions

It is easiest if you mix this in the bottle in which you want to use the perfume. Because the formula yields about 30 ml of perfume, the Quadro bottle (which comes complete with atomizer attachment and cap) is a great choice. Remember to shorten the riser! You do not use more than 1 ml of any fragrance, so you can get started with the smallest bottles of each fragrance. When ordering, consider plastic pipettes, the bottles with fragrances are supplied without a dropper. Cosmetic hair water can be added with a 3 ml pipette, but a funnel is more convenient. Our glass 50 mm funnel or 60 mm plastic funnel are suitable for the bottle of the Quadro atomizer.

After mixing you can use the perfume immediately, however, due to maturation the perfume gets better over time, especially the alcohol smell becomes less intense.

Easy Eau de Cologne

For those who like to keep it simple

A kind of Chanel N°5

Chanel N°5 is the most iconic modern western perfume out there. On May 5, 2021, this perfume will celebrate its 100th anniversary. As a gift, we give a formula that allows you to make a perfume that smells like Chanel N°5: A kind of Chanel N°5.

Note 1: The real recipe of Chanel N°5 is of course a secret. The quality of the perfume is guaranteed by Chanel’s specialists. The factories where it is made have the best raw materials, laboratories and people. Our approach is made with care and quite nice, but obviously it’s not the same.

Note 2: The recipe below is not intended for beginners, some experience and knowledge is important, may be necessary. In any case, you must know how to make a perfume, how to dissolve and dilute fragrances.

A kind of Chanel N°5

First prepare the fragrance composition by dripping the following substances into a glass beaker or bottle. The first is the number of drops, followed by the substance and, where applicable, the dilution. Example “25 – Coumarin 10% in DPG” means: put 25 drops of a 10% solution of coumarin in DPG in the beaker.

After you have mixed these 100 drops together you can make a perfume by adding 20-30 ml of Cosmetic Hair Water. Anything stronger can increase the risk of an allergic reaction. Stir well and put in a suitable bottle.

Due to the high percentage of aldehydes, this perfume needs a long maturation time: at least 2 months, preferably a little longer. Until it is sufficiently matured, the aldehyde smell will be strongly predominant.

Parfume ‘Fruity’

A simple formula for a fruity perfume.

Description

Perfume ‘Fruity’ is a simple perfume that you can easily make yourself. Especially suited for lovers of fruity scents.

Formula

Mix the following in any order:

• EO Mandarin Red (org) – 12 drops
• FO Peach kiss – 9 drops
• Benzyl acetate – 12 drops
• Hedione (Fir) – 12 drops
• Hexyl cinnamal – 3 drops
• Heliotropex N (IFF) – 12 drops
• Cosmetic hair water – 30 ml
