Properties

EO Coriander seed (org) is a colorless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. The oil has a fairly long shelf life. The oil is made by steam distillation from fruits (in fact not the seeds!) of coriander, or Coriandrum sativum L.. This coriander is grown organically. Not to be confused with the oil made from the green coriander plant, it is usually called cilantro oil. Although there are similarities in smell, it is really a different oil.

Like any essential oil, this one is a mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is the following:
  • 25 % - Linalool
  • 5-10% - Camphor, Alpha Pinene
  • 2-5% - para Cymene, Geraniol, Geranyl Acetate, Limonene, Gamma Terpinene
  • 1-2 % - Camphene, Linalool oxide, Myrcene, beta Pinene

The 10 and 50 ml packaging is made of brown glass with a black child-resistant cap. The 250 g package is made of aluminum with a stopper and white cap. The latter packaging is not supplied to private individuals due to the lack of the child-resistant closure.
