Please read all information below and general product information before purchase.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Usage

Galaxolide 50% in IPM (IFF) has a musky scent with floral notes. It is the most widely used musk fragrance available worldwide for decades. The scent is not particularly strong and this product is already a solution (of 50 %) in IPM. Further dilution is therefore not necessary, but if you do it, IPM is the most suitable solvent. Typical use is in musk accords. You usually use between 5% and 50% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with almost everything: it is incredibly versatile and widely applicable. It adds a sweet, warm musky scent to the compositions. In perfumes it is mainly a base note, it is stable in most products, including soap. As a base note, it is also more or less suitable as a fixative. It can be used in candles, but it is not very strong in scent in candles.

We supply the 50% solution of Galaxolide in IPM, pure Galaxolide is much less easy to process and IPM is a solvent that is suitable for many fragrance applications.

Keep cool, dry, dark and out of the reach of children.

Properties

Galaxolide 50% in IPM (IFF) is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. It contains around 50% Galaxolide (by volume), aka HHCB. It does not occur in nature. The solvent IPM does occur in nature, and is largely based on vegetable raw materials. The manufacturer is IFF, who also makes the dilution. In Europe, this fragrance is often associated with clean laundry, as it is widely used as a fragrance in laundry detergent.

Anosmia (not being able to smell (certain scents)) is relatively common for many base notes and certainly also for musk fragrances. It is always possible that you do not perceive Galaxolide, or that you perceive it in a different way than others. It can vary from day to day.

Galaxolide was developed by doctor Muus Gerrit Jan Beets in the laboratories of IFF, around 1957, and has developed into the most widely used musk fragrance.
