Caution!

Please read all information below and our general product information before purchase.
Not intended for use in food, vape liquids or other internal use.
Intended to be mixed with other fragrances: on its own, the scent can be dull or even unpleasant.
Do not use undiluted on the skin: it is a raw material, not a finished product.

Use

Evernyl (Giv) has an odour reminiscent of an important aspect of oak moss and tree moss. The scent is not particularly strong, but it is a solid. Making a dilution of, for example, 10% can therefore be useful. Suitable solvents are DPG, TEC or alcohol 96%. Typical use is as a (partial) replacement of oak moss and tree moss extracts. It is much less odourous than oakmoss and treemoss absolute, but is the only other substance with certain characteristic mossy odour aspects. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It goes well with woody, chypres and fougeres fragrances. Other scents in which it can be used are wood, earth and mushrooms. In perfumes it is mainly a base note, it is stable in most products, including soaps and candles. In very acidic products (pH < 3) there is a risk of problems and in bleach it is better not to use it.

Keep cool, dry, dark and out of the reach of children.

Properties

Evernyl (Giv) is a white to beige solid at room temperature, which we sell as a powder. The purity is at least 98% and the substance has a long shelf life. While still allergenic, it is much less allergenic than natural oak moss and tree moss extracts. It hardly occurs in nature, for use as a fragrance the synthetic version is used. The manufacturer is the Swiss Givaudan. Veramoss is the name of a comparable product from IFF.
