Description

Frankincense resinoide 50% in DPG is a fragrance extract solution, for use in, for example, perfume, cosmetics, soap and air fresheners.

Use

Frankincense resinoide 50% in DPG has the warm spicy, spicy and powdery scent of church incense. The scent is not very strong, it has already been diluted, as a rule no further dilution is necessary. It is occasionally used in, for example, amber, chypre, fougère, coniferous and woody scents. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with resinous green scents and woody scents. It adds a touch of spice and powderiness. It is mainly a base note in perfumes. It is stable in soap and is used as a fixation for coniferous scents.

Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.

Properties

Frankincense resinoide 50% in DPG is an orange-yellow to brown, viscous liquid at room temperature. It has a fairly long shelf life. The substance is a solution of a resinoid, an extract that is made with certain solvents, such as hexane or alcohol. These solvents are removed as good as possible from the extract. The fragrance comes from the gum resin of Boswellia species. Due to wild harvesting and traditional extraction and trade, it is virtually impossible to further specify the species. The same applies to the origin of the resins, which can come from all over the distribution area from India to East Africa.

Like any plant extract, this one is a mixture of various substances. Due to the various origins of the gum resin, it varies quite a bit. Important constituents are boswellic acids, serratol, delta-3-carene, pinenes, caryophyllene, cembrenes and verticilenes.
